The car was build in 1961 and appeared on the Swiss roads in 1962 and still remains in Switzerland.br>p It's restored and driven during the well known classic car rallyes.

It seems that it was delivered new to Dan Blocker, the actor in the US television show Bonanza, who played Eric 'Hoss' Cartwright. After his ownership, it was purchased by Mr. Thomas Mee Jr., and owned by him until given to his son, Mr. Thomas Mee III, who owns the car now. It seems that the car currently resides in California. March 2007 Last November Doug purchased AM101.1802, the Dan Blocker/Thomas Mee car from the Mee family. He has put the car back into show condition, except the paint which is black lacquer and crazed. The paint is glossy and shows well from a distance. The interior is being fitted with new leather, carpet, and panels and is being done as 100% original (unlike the prior interior restoration). The car is very strong mechanically, and we have correctly rewired a botched job that was recently done.

I received the following story from Robert (last updated june 2006): AM101.1850 (Carrozzeria Touring body No. 12164) was delivered new by the factory to Baron Pompeo of Terribile of Mesagne (Brindisi), Italy on October 31st of 1961. It was an interim car, sporting a full set of disc brakes, a fiberglass cold air box, the Carrozzeria Touring emblem located above the fender vents and a 5 speed transmission. It was painted Grigio Metalizzato with blue leather and grey carpets. Unique features included a wood rimmed Nardi steering wheel, town and country horn sets, in-dash radio (no history of when installed) and a starter-killing security lock mounted in the glove box. The official records of registration from the Automobile Club Italia reveal that AM101.1850 remained in Italy and had the following ownership history and transfer dates: March 25, 1965 Transferred to Antonio Terribile, Scipione Terrible and Maria Sangiovanni March 25, 1965 Transferred to Maria Amalia Sangiovanni in Rome April 6, 1965 Received new license plates for Rome November 26, 1966 Transferred to Antonio Cesaria in Oria December 21, 1966 Received new license plates for Oria June 4, 1979 Sold to Luigi Carrieri in Monopoli. June 18, 1979 Received new license plates for Bari July 4, 1979 Sold to Vittorio Fiume in Putignano October 17, 1981 Sold to Paola Zazzera in Monopoli. In 1980, Mr. Daniel Gentile, a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area with business interests in the Bari region of Italy, saw and drove AM101.1850 for the first time while visiting Putignano. On a return trip in 1983, Mr. Gentile purchased the car from a liquor manufacturer/distributor in Putignano, assumedly Mr. Paola Zazzera. At some point during its life in Italy, AM101.1850 was repainted to a warm shade of silver. A shipping invoice dated December 3, 1983 details its importation to San Francisco, CA and was reportedly in a state of general disrepair. The bumpers were re-chromed and the carpets were re-dyed. I've got the following information from Laurent Taurel: The car was sold when new in France from Thepenier, the French importer. The first owner was the Martell company well known producer of cognac. I had when i bought the car a phone conversation with mr. Andre Mmartell.After this i dont know exactly what happened to the car. I met mr Geoges Lepron in France who told me he owned the car in the seventies. The car appeared in an Parisian auction, possibly Poulain in 1988 (i have a copy of the catalogue) it belonged to the well knowed enthousiast Serge Pozzoli. It was sold at the auction organised after his death in 1994 by famour car restorer Francois Cointreau from Angers (France), i bought it a few time later from him. The car is in quite good condition with matching number engine and transmission.The interior is in original condition with the original leather. The car is light blue metallic wich is not exactly the original color.The correct color is Celest Chiaro (Max Meyer 16300). It's a very useable (and used) car converted to carbs by me ten years ago, the original injection system is still with the car, like a copy of the original buying bill.

101-2036 was produced in march 1962 and sold new to Mr. Saverio Sacco in Allessandria, Italy.
It seems to spent the first time in the US by Kenneth Pollinger, CA. The car was later sold to Ben Dixon, CA.
Later it spend some time in Arizona.
It was imported to Sweden from Melbourne Florida in 1988. Sold to a Maserati collector who started to restore it,
then in 1996 sold to a museum. Bought by me in October 2008
Engine now coverted to Webers and lost it's Borrani disk wheels and the lower trim from the windshield.

Doug Magnon bought the car early 2006. It had sat in a tow yard in Pennsylvania for a long time. Doug has managed to assemble all missing items an had a fresh carbureted motor is installed while the OEM injected motor gets a rebuild. The car has perfect panel fit, no oxidation to the aluminum, and rust limited to the floor boards. The car was originally sold to someone in Naples, Italy and the car still has the rear Naples plate and a key ring from Naples. It is currently awaiting a complete restoration.
It is very rough, though original, having sat outside in Florida for many years in a field.

Valerio Federici bought his car outside of Rome, on or around 1964. He owns te car for the past 46 years.
His son owned 101-2116 for a while.

The first owner lived near Zurich and owned the car from 1962-1970. Gunther Wulff bought the car in 1970 from the first owner. It got a new 14 layer paintcoat in 2000.

Peter has a 1963 3500 GTI that he imported from the US in 2004. He bought the car from a New Zealander, Mr Garry Lovell, who works in the US, (the car was registered in California to a Dale Lovell). The car had been owned in the past by a Richard Komonyi, in Los Angeles, from around (or before) 1983 to 1989. The car was without a motor or gearbox. Subsequently he sourced these from Larry Ruben in Oregon, US. The car is currently in Ashburton, New Zealand and is awaiting restoration.
101.2234, Touring body number 12358, was produced in May 1962 and sold new in Verona, Italy. Its original colour was Verde Pavone (Max Meyer 16.286, peacock green) with white Connolly leather interior. It spent some time in the US (Ohio title) and was imported in France in 1991. The car is almost 100% complete, with no track of major repair or restoration and rust-free structure. It still has its original instruments, in Italian, and speedometer in km/h. A black leather interior, which seems to be original (coming from another 3500 GTI?) was fitted into the car, certainly in the US.

2008 For sale at The Gallery in The Netherlands. Converted to Weber. This car spent some time in Germany.
Sold to new Dutch owner in October 2010
Sold at auction by Brooks, Monte Carlo Auction Centre, Monte Carlo. The car is described as in good condition throughout (see lot 65 Brooks 26.5.92).
The car has two airvents (original) near the windshield above the fenders. The body is painted in Grigio Albany metallizzato (MaxMeyer 16249) and the interior is in white Connolly leather (1544). It was delivered in July 1962 in Santa Margherita Ligure (Italy) to Mr.Gianfranco Bonzi through the Turin Maserati dealer Bordese. Mr. Lana, the current owner and Andrea Montalenti, who owns 101-2574 found it in a gasoline station near Turin in late 70's. The car was carried (not running) in a garage and there remained for 35 years until now. Now it needs a total restoration, the owner thinks that the work will begin spring 2008.
Although first claimed it was scraped, the car appeared on E-Bay in Januari 2007. Part dismantled and missing it's engine and gearbox. Januari 2009. The restoration is almost finished.

Lou Savaglio purchased the car, 101-2332 in august 2010, it is complete with a decent body,
was owned by a man in nebraska since 1980. He bought it with no motor or trans. & installed a early Ford 289
with auto trans. Said his deceased wife drove it. Then parked it in dry barn. It runs great however needs tank
cleaned & brake work to drive.
Delivered new to California USA 2004 Auctioned at Auction Exceptional Motor cars. Christies, Pebble Beach sales centre, Pebble Beach. Now equipped with Weber 42DCOE8 carbs.
